UNIQUE MASTERS OF LAW PROGRAMS AT LA TROBE UNIVERSITY
The School of Law at La Trobe University offers two specialised Master of Laws degrees for German law graduates who have or about to complete the First State exam.
These programs are delivered in intensive block mode, offering flexible start dates in February, June, July, November, December. This intensive format allows students to complete a Masters degree in as little as nine months.
MASTER OF LAW (GLOBAL BUSINESS LAW)
Global Business Law students are taught by internationally renowned academics from the world’s best universities, including the University of California (Los Angeles), Duke University, Pennsylvania State University, the China University of Politics and Law in Beijing, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the University of Muenster in Germany.
The structure of the program is ideal for overseas law practitioners or recent graduates who seek quality Master of Law options. The units are delivered in a five-day intensive mode during the Australian summer (December-February) and winter (June-July) vacations.

MASTER OF LAW (INTERNATIONAL)
The Master of Laws (International) is unique in Australia because it allows the foreign LLM student to study LLB units in their LLM degree. The degree is only available to overseas lawyers who have a law degree from their home jurisdiction who wish to gain advanced qualifications in law and expand their career prospects internationally. There are currently a number of students from Germany and other European countries enrolled. This coursework degree can be completed in two semesters.

The Global Business Law program at La Trobe University’s Law School presents as an opportunity for law graduates to study in subject areas of global interest, including international business and arbitration law, and US business and corporations law.
The Master of Laws International is unique in Australia and designed with non-Australian lawyers in mind. The degree is a coursework program only available to overseas lawyers who have a law degree from their home jurisdiction.

ADVANCED STANDING
Advanced standing may be granted to suitable applicants. Advanced standing means that applicants may be granted credit for up to two units or 30 credit points. Advanced standing of 30 credit points will result in a 25% deduction in tuition fees. Students who have passed the Fachspezifische Fremdsprachenausbildung in Rechtsenglisch (FFA) from Muenster University School of Law or a similar program at another German university are eligible for 30 credit points advanced standing.

Die Veranstaltungen finden außerhalb der Semesterzeiten als fünftägige Blockseminare statt, wobei den Studierenden vier Wochen Zeit gewährt wird, um die Prüfungen eines Blockseminars abzuschließen. Die Seminare können auch auf andere LLM Programme angerechnet werden.
