Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Associated Programs
  1. MBA
  2. GDBA (Graduate Diploma in Business Administration)
  3. GCBA (Graduate Certificate in Business Administration)
La Trobe University's MBA and associated programs (GDBA and GCBA) are intensive and rigorous and are renowned for their flexibility and extensive range of unit offerings. This inherent flexibility allows students to pursue a general management program with units covering the many and varied areas of contemporary management practice. The programs are targeted at managers operating in both the private and public sectors who wish to upgrade and/or broaden their general management skills.

The courses are designed to enable graduates to tackle problems creatively in order to achieve optimum results for their organisations. They achieve this by striking a balance between theory and practice and by providing both synthetic and real case settings within which theory may be enacted and tested for effect.

The quality of the student learning experience is underpinned by the use of senior, highly qualified and experienced teachers, each of whom has operated in a corporate headquarters setting and has published scholarly articles in his/her respective field.

Students will have the opportunity of interacting with managers from various industries and countries and/or exchanging ideas and experiences.

La Trobe University's MBA has been specifically structured to suit the needs of students with active professional careers and can be completed in 12 - 15 months of full-time study. A feature of the program is its 4 term academic year, which provides students with flexible study options, including a wide range of unit offerings and different modes of unit delivery.

The La Trobe University MBA provides a truly international learning experience.

This is a great chance to take control of your future.

Why La Trobe?

Frank Lattuch –MBA Graduate 2008

I started my academic career in Germany with a Bachelor of Sciences (Business Administration) with majors in Marketing and Organisational Management. Due to my work experience at multinational organisations in the field of marketing, I have spent long periods of time abroad, e.g. USA and India. To top off my international experiences I decided to go abroad for an academic challenge.

I was attracted by La Trobe University because it is located in the eclectic capital city of, Melbourne, Australia. The Bundoora campus is only a short ride away from the city and the variety of units offered at the Graduate School of Management enabled me to tailor the program to my personal needs. I highly recommend subjects like Coporate Strategy, Organisational Behaviour or Business Improvement Methodologies.

My experiences in Australia while undertaking the MBA have exposed me to waking up to the sound of wild-life, followed by riding my bike through un-crowded streets, to arrive at a place where I am nurtured by experienced lecturers, supervisors and peers in the development of my business skills. My business acumen was improved through excellent support and encouragement, including exposure to realistic business situations, which in turn built my confidence as a successful business person. The professional knowledge can be transferable, enabling me to take my learning from Australia back to my home-country, Germany. Most importantly I have felt welcomed and valued as a student and a future colleague by all members of the staff and student body.
